Barsoomian chess set!

Surely some of y'all are Burroughs fans and will understand my sudden out-of-nowhere urge to make a Barsoomian artifact of some sort. What about a chess set? Everyone on Barsoom plays Jetan, pretty much, and surely wandering panthans would challenge each other to a match or two whenever they chanced to meet. That means small, lightweight sets that would easily fit into a pack or pouch. What would those look like? Elegant, refined, and polished? Meh, that's no fun. Much cooler to do something broken-in and worn and rough!

So I got to work!

Jetan Set - Barsoomian Chess

Story is, a young warrior made this set from materials she scrounged and bartered for while imprisoned -- this happens a lot on Mars, it really does -- and painted it in the nonrepresentational style of the Green Men.
