Yesterday to celebrate the end of my college finals, I made a Castiel string doll.

More pictures can be found HERE at my journal.

Been a lurker for a while and thought I'd finally post. I made these for some friends who were really happy with them, so I decided to do a whole bunch of them for an anime festival coming up. And because I'm a Star Wars and Flash nerd and my friends are BIG fans of Doctor Who I made these other sets as well ^_^

So I started getting really into making baby things because they were cute and fun to make. One day I found myself working on crochet while watching "Sarah Jane Adventures" and thought K-9 was amazing. First I made a small Toy K-9 and then it mixed with the baby things. Next thing I knew I had a set of K-9 baby booties (Sized Newborn - 5 months). They were amazing to make and quite fun.

I have no excuse for the toy weeping angel other than those episodes scared the heck out of me so I just had to make a toy Weeping Angel!

Just a little background: I am a sophomore Baking and Pastry student at Johnson and Wales University. For my Sugar Artistry class, we had the option of doing an underwater themed sugar showpiece. At first I was going to do koi fish and it was going to be more realistic.

Then I said "that ain't my style" and I went for something a little bit more closer to my heart.

After some last minute changes, here is my finished showpiece (+ a model that I had to do as part of my homework):

Did you know that if you stick your finger in your ear and wiggle it back and forth, it kinda sounds like PacMan?

I'll wait while you try that out...

*Cue jeopardy theme*

See? Anyhoozle, back to actually making a positive, productive, and on-topic entry, earlier today, [info]lizzie_borden reminded me with one of her comments on my previous entry displaying my Pyramid Head cross stitch piece, that I still hadn't shared my PacMan CuppyCakes with you guys! I made these for MomoCon 2012, for the security team. I bake when I'm stressed, and MomoCon happened to fall on the third anniversary of my grandma's death and my Mom was only just getting her life back after a year and a half of chemo and radiation; so I was a little on edge and my friend Chris (Yes, the same guy that my Pyramid Head piece was stitched for) offered to get me outta the house via MomoCon because he was working security and is close with the head of security, so I brought cuppycakes for all of the guys on security because I've worked security at a con, and it's SERIOUSLY TAXING WORK and you need a sugar rush (cupcake! extra frosting!) and a caffeine rush (mountain dew! monster!) several times a day.

So, without further aidu, I give you my PacMan CuppyCakes! )

I finished the first of my Doctor Who Series Five pony customs last month, and it just occurred to me that I never showed her off here. Ladies and gentlemen, Liz Ten.

Basically, I rule. )

Okay guys-I promised pictures of my Pyramid Head cross stitch, and having had some extra time on my hands this weekend (My Mom finished chemo in feburary and went to get her hair cut & styled this saturday-YAY! So, I went with her, and it's boring sitting while your Mom is under the blowdryer and can't carry on a conversation, no matter how happy you are for her.), I actually FINISHED IT.

Well, okay, I almost finished it. I just cut the material to the size it needs to be and stuck it in the frame-I will have to get it out later on and press it, but I just didn't feel like ironing tonight.

Nonetheless, here are the pictures (LOTS and LOTS of pictures. Bad-cell-phone-camera-quality pictures, but lots of them...), as promised: The darkness is coming... )

Overall, I'm really happy with the outcome, and I think Chris will be as well-I wanted to go for more of a shadowy figure, kinda looming in the shadows, with only the weapon highlighted; especially because of the quote I chose to use. Hope you guys like it :)

I'm more of a book-geek instead of a gamer geek, but most of my friends love video games; and one of my best friends is graduating with his masters in a couple of weeks...and, well, I'm broke and he loves all my geeky crafts, (trust me, you should see his apartment-His ex used to make LARP inspired dolls, and he has them everywhere) and has been asking me to make him something, so I figured I'd take his favorite violent villian and make a cross stitch pattern from it. I'm pretty good at sketching out what I want on graph paper, but in the five or six pictures I saved for reference, one of the pictures shows Pyramid Head holding what looks (to me) like a whip or a collar. I asked the interwebs and nothing came up about a whip or collar, but I'd like to get it as accurate as possible, and since I've never played the game(s) and it's been years since I saw the movie, I was hoping you guys could tell me WTF he is holding in his left hand...I'm including the picture; it's of a stained glass piece that I think is awesome, but I have no clue who to credit it to; so if you made it, please let me know-I promise I'm not copying it-Just using it for reference since it has such clean lines.

Oh, and I promise I'll post pictures when I'm done :)

I made the newest villain from My Little Pony.  This is the fastest I've busted out a plushie ever, but she was a lot more complicated than anything else I've made.  I just spent pretty much every free moment I had on her and didn't get enough sleep all week so I could finish!

Spoilers for the season finale if you haven't seen it and care about that sort of thing )

I wanted to show a crochet pattern I created - Owl Bear, which could be modded to have different owl bear looks or even into a Moonkin from WOW. Well, a squishy cute version.

I got a few more pics of them on my blog: http://awkwardsoul.wordpress.com/2012/04/25/owl-bears-and-beasts-oh-my/

My husband and his friends play Dungeons & Dragons, but I'm very new to it. He was giving me ideas for other creatures to make (as well as his friends) and they keep saying I need to do an “Invisible Stalker” or whatever it is called. I google it and feel like a dummy. Out-geeked indeed.
